As our society ages, more and more individuals in our
community require increasing levels of care that are
often provided outside the home in long term- care institutions.
Long term care in New Jersey includes assisted living
facilities, extended care facilities (nursing homes),
subacute rehabilitation facilities and acute (usually
in hospital) rehabilitation services. RMA physicians
are involved in many of the facilities within Monmouth
County. Assisted living facilities generally do not
have physicians on premises and for our patients who
reside in assisted living facilities within our immediate
geographic area we provide continuing care through,
our office and with the assistance of the assisted living

facilities nearby. We hospitalize patients at Riverview
Medical Center, when necessary, and attempt to coordinate
care with the assisted living or extended care facilities
with which our practice participates.
